Verizon doesn’t know when to stop. It’s running deceptive ads. It’s installing 5G technology everywhere: football stadiums, neighborhoods where it’s not wanted (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), public schools, even at the New York Times. The company has already created a line of smartphones for kids.
Now it’s introducing a new youth digital skills training program and referring to it as part of their new “responsible” corporate business plan. Because there aren’t enough existing problems and warnings associated with kids spending too much time on devices???

Verizon also said it would become carbon neutral in its operations by 2035 by reducing emissions, investing in renewable energy and purchasing carbon offsets

American opposition to 5G deployment continues to increase (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) AND includes a new bill introduced in Hawaii to stop deployment until studies that prove it’s safe. Of course, opposition is not isolated to biological and environmental risks (see 1, 2). Engineers have warned that 5G base stations can overheat. Installation reduces property value. Federal agencies have warned that 5G threatens national security, public safety, and weather forecasting accuracy.
But Verizon and other companies keep installing it anyway as well as introducing other self-serving business ventures. Referring to any of them as “corporate responsibility” is embarrassingly shameless.
