Mexican Pipeline Explosion was Caused by Thieves Tapping the Line – Graphic Video Shows People on Fire

SNLS | January 19, 2019

Today I woke up and saw the following video of a pipeline explosion in Central Mexico. It broke my heart and left me feeling worried because we drove through that region very recently. The theft of gasoline was already making headlines and impacting Mexicans in the area… Earlier this month (January 2019) we were driving through Mexico from Austin to Acapulco and suddenly found ourselves unable to find gasoline. We drove by eight gas stations with no gasoline before we contacted friends alerting them we were concerned. A google search found only one article that indicated a crackdown on gasoline

Coworking in Nature could make 2019 your Most Productive Year Yet

SNLS | January 14, 2019

At age 21, I left the United States and embraced a fully nomadic existence. I’d traveled before, but always with plans of returning home. This time, I had a one way ticket. Six years have passed, and I’ve never really looked back. I began traveling from ecolodge to ecolodge, trading my skills for room and board. It was transient, unstable, and beautiful, but when the opportunity arose to take a job as an editor for an online mindful media platform, I welcomed the (relative) financial sustainability. 5 Must-Have Tools for Maintaining Your Garden

SNLS | January 9, 2019

Gardens are one home project where you can measure success by answering the question, do you want to work harder or smarter. The work is often very repetitive, which means that the key isn’t a willingness to break your back getting it done, but knowing how to let your tools do the bulk of the work and spare your joints. The tools that work best will be different depending on what kind of garden you have. A vegetable garden has different requirements than a bed of flowers, and a patch you’re using to grow potatoes in will require different maintenance

More life exists beneath the Earth’s surface than above it, scientists say.

SNLS | December 30, 2018

After ten years of study, and hundreds of holes drilled into the earth, scientists have found an entire new biosphere of life underground that is two times the size of earths oceans. The carbon mass is that of 245-385 times the carbon mass of all humans on earth. What does this mean? It means that 70% of all earth’s life actually lives beneath the surface. This is an amazing discovery by the Deep Carbon Observatory collaborators. A community of more than 300 researchers in 34 countries. The search for living organisms miles beneath earth’s surface is fascinating. However just like

Killing the Rainforest, Are the U.S. and China in this together?

SNLS | December 21, 2018

“China more than doubled its wood imports from the Congo Basin between 2001 and 2015, the study found, and most of the cheap furniture it exported was headed for the United States.” – Return to Now The second largest rainforest in the world in Central Africa’s Congo Basin is disappearing, despite local laws against deforestation. To be clear, I’m not an environmentalist nor would I use government to force anyone to do something or not. I believe things change once the culture awakens. Africa has been affected by Deforestation since the dawn of time. Corporations and governments both support the

The Topic of Depopulation – Kevin Galalae vs The Vatican

SNLS | December 18, 2018

When the topic of population control is brought up in writing or conversation (as many readers of this blog are likely familiar with) it is widely regarded as conspiracy and hysteria. And, to a great extent, it is reasonable to see how it could come across as paranoid to many people: “Are the global elites out to get us? Is there some agenda to depopulate the earth, control people’s breeding habits, and make people sick?” Author and human rights activist Kevin Galalae is one of many individuals who would say the answer to the above questions is a definitive “yes.”

How to Clean And Maintain Your Yard With Zero Fossil Fuels

SNLS | December 18, 2018

Sustainable Yard Care Keeping a neat and enjoyable outdoor space around your home doesn’t need to be a war on nature fought with weed killer, fossil fuels, and store bought ornaments. In fact, pesticides can leach into our air, water and soil, and ultimately into our bodies, causing a variety of side effects from mild skin irritation to more serious effects like cancer. Avoid that and the waste of other resources by applying some routine maintenance and a little creativity, and your yard can be a welcoming oasis for both you and the local birds, bees, butterflies and plants. There are even ways
